Student placements at The Bridge
Student placements offer hands-on experience across a range of The Bridge services, helping you build skills, grow your confidence and gain valuable industry experience with ongoing support and mentoring.
Primrose’s story
Primrose joined The Bridge in August 2024 as a student completing a 500-hour placement while studying a Bachelor of Community and Human Services.
“It was through this hands-on experience and the time I spent with clients that I realised my heart belongs in this space, working alongside them and seeing them reach their full potential.”
Benefits of placements at The Bridge
Support every step of the way
We provide training, ongoing mentoring, and support you throughout your placement. We also support different pathways, with many students going on to transition into roles with us.
Flexible approach where possible
We understand each placement is different and aim to be flexible wherever we can, working with you to find the placement that works best.
Broad range of services
With a wide range of services, you’ll gain exposure to different areas of a large organisation and have the opportunity to build experience in a setting that suits your goals.
Strong relationships with RTOs
As a trusted registered disability service provider established in the 1970s, we have strong, long-standing relationships with RTOs and have supported many students through successful placements.
How the process works
We will provide training, ongoing mentoring, and support you every step of the way as you begin what can be an incredible and exciting new experience.
Step 2: Interview and pre-screen
We will reach out via email or phone to connect with you. If it sounds like a good fit, we will invite you to an informal style interview to get to know you better. After a successful interview and ensuring we have capacity to host you for your preferred dates, we will move to the next stage.
Step 3: Onboarding
We’ll confirm your placement scope, start date, and have you complete our key documents like privacy, confidentiality and code of conduct. We will also ensure we have all the required checks, including a NDIS check.
Step 4: Start making an impact
We will send you all the details for your first day and who will be supporting you on placement. Meet our participants and team and start making a difference!
