The Bridge Works is the social enterprise arm of our organisation, operating a network of warehouses and mobile microbusinesses. It brings together a blended workforce of supported employees, training support officers, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds, creating meaningful work opportunities and inclusive pathways to employment. At The Bridge Works, sustainability means more than environmental responsibility, it’s about creating social impact through meaningful work.

One powerful example of this is our partnership with Soap Aid, an Australian not-for-profit that recycles used and unused soap from hotels and motels. At The Bridge Works, our team operates SoapAid’s recycling plant, sorting, cleaning and packaging soap that would otherwise go to landfill. Together, we now deliver over 1,000 bars of recycled soap every week to communities in need across Australia and overseas. 🌏

This impact is amplified through Woollahra, a 100% Indigenous-owned not-for-profit and cleaning products distributor. Through Woollahra’s Camps and Communities initiative, soap from Fortescue mining camps is collected, recycled at The Bridge Works on behalf of Soap Aid, and distributed to First Nations communities across Western Australia, improving access to hygiene and supporting better health outcomes. We also use Woollahra cleaning products within our own Cleaning Crew services, purchasing in concentrate form and using calibrated dispensing systems. By sharing shipping with SoapAid, we’re reducing transport costs and greenhouse gas emissions. 🚛🌿

We’re proud to work alongside other social enterprises who prove that when people, purpose, and partnership come together, real and lasting change is possible. ✨
